Sun Community School
The partnership between Cherry Park and Metropolitan Family Service strives to positively impact the lives of the students, parents, guardians, teachers, administration, and the surrounding community by offering a variety of resources. These resources include a FREE on-site after-school program for 1st-5th graders, a family resource navigator, a bi-weekly food pantry, resource events such as clothing/food drives, and several fun and informative school events throughout the year. For more information on these topics please see below.
The SUN After-School Program is offered for three different sessions throughout the school year: Fall, Winter, and Spring. For each session, there is a registration period that will be communicated to all Cherry Park 1st-5th grade families via ParentSquare. Completing registration is not a confirmation of your student’s enrollment. At the end of each registration period, the SUN site supervisor will reach out with information letting you know if your student is enrolled or if they have been placed on a waitlist. Phone calls, emails, and texts will be the methods of communication used.
